FF-13 FLIGHT part six

The sun soon rose over the ridge of the mountains and into the small dank cave, beams of sunlight hit Fang's eyes forcing her to wake. She frowned and buried her face closer to something soft and warm, still more then half asleep she had forgotten the she was in a cave.  An hour pasted by and the cave soon filled with soft morning light, along with a soft warm water breeze.  Fang yawned softly and finally opened her eyes, she was firmly curled up close to Lightning and being held in return.  This brought a smile to her face and a gentle blush to her cheeks.  Lightning must have fallen asleep at some point in the night while trying to keep the two women safe, more than forgivable, for even the strong solider was still human.  Fang sat up a little, her body healing over a good night of rest and comfort in Lightning's arms.  She wrapped Lightning up with the blanket and made her way to the cave opening, it was still early enough for them to rest awhile longer before having to set out to find the others, but even then thinking of leaving this cave brought sadness to Fang's mind rather then happiness of finding the group.  Would things go back to being the same once they left the cave? Could they have a relationship or would Lighting's duty to finding Serah crush any of Fang's hope for love?  Before Fang could trouble her mind more with all of her self-doubting questions and worries, a hand touched her side and she felt warm arms wrap around her from behind.  She jumped slightly being caught off guard by such affection pulling her from her thoughts.
"I see you're wounds are healing."
Lightning's voice was soft and gave off a tone Fang never heard for the woman before.
"Yeah, I'm feeling a lot better today."
She touched Lightning's arms gently, her skin was soft against Fang's fingers.  She wished that this embrace wouldn't end.
"Can you spot the crash from last night?"
Fang was silent, still in thoughts of Lightning and herself. Lightning raised an eyebrow and then looked out towards the distance.  From last night she could of guessed the crash couldn't of been more the 500 yards away from their current position. Maybe it was the others or if she were lucky, it was something to do with Serah. Something wet hit her arm, she looked back to Fang who had soft tears slowly falling from her eyes.
"Fang? Are you alright?"
Fang shook her head lightly and smiled softly,
"It's nothing, just thinking about everything."
Lighting nodded and kissed Fang's cheek gently,
"If you need to talk, I'm right here."
She let go of the woman and went to packing up their stuff.  Fang's heart sank and rose a little, from her thoughts to Lightning's words and kiss, it could never be the same.
